Sometimes in my career I am so deeply touched by the honor that is given me to photograph special moments. I get emotional when I think of the reason Katie and I met, but was so excited to create something special for her & Marshall on their wedding day. Finding true happiness after a tragedy is something that takes a lifetime and one needs someone strong to lead them, but also someone with a tender heart to love them when they are most vulnerable. This photograph is one of my Legacy Portraits, that is truly a piece from my heart. "I once took a thousand moments for granted because I thought there would be a million more, but today, with God's healing, I give my hand and heart for you to lead me. I promise I will CHERISH every moment"

Music Comes From The Soul

Avery's title (MUSIC COMES FROM THE SOUL), comes from the quote by Ritchie Hawtin "It's not what the equipment does, it's about what you can do through that equipment. That's where the soul is." Avery is an amazing trumpet player and is pursuing music in college, so it was only fitting that we incorporated that into his Legacy image.

Rise Above

This is a whole series of Legacy portraits of Jaelyn enjoying the beauty God has created. She is an artist and watercolor is her desired medium. We chose this area in NC because it looks like a painting with the majestic mountains. Jaelyn has overcome a lot of obstacles in her life with anxiety and one thing that keeps her grounded is her faith in Jesus Christ. He can move mountains and He has done this for her. Jaelyn spends countless hours in her art room creating from her heart. She continues to rise above and takes each day with grace and happiness. Keep enjoying, keep exploring, keep serving and keep creating!

The Eternal Symphony

We had the perfect day to create this Legacy Image for Senior Model Natalia Alonzo, "The Eternal Symphony" Natalia has been playing violin since she was 3 years old. Her dedication to music has led to many accomplishments, including becoming Concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra. Music has supported and inspired her throughout her life, and she believes it conveys feeling and emotion in a way that will never die; its beauty is eternal.

Where Dreams Take Wing

Legacy Title "Where Dreams Take Wing" Rob and Amanda are from Duluth, Minnesota and had a beautiful wedding at Glenora Wine Cellars today. I always want my wedding clients to have a piece of art that tells their story in one portrait, which is why I create these Legacy portraits. While discussing ideas with Rob and Amanda they told me that they enjoy walking on the Pier in Duluth and watching the ships go in and out of the harbor. Now, since we can’t go to Minnesota today we did the next best thing… we went to Lake Ontario, Sodus Point where Rob grew up! It has a lot of memories for him and he has served as an EMT there for years. Rob and Amanda also enjoy walking the beach and finding sea glass when they can or just relaxing on the beach with a glass of wine. They are both adventurous and enjoy exploring new areas and creating memories. When I say they are adventurous, I mean it… Let me tell you, it was windy and chilly and Amanda went barefoot for this shoot because they did their first look in the sand where she sunk in her pretty sandals, but it was so worth it!

Clouds Add Color to Our Sunset Skies

The perfect way to end our day of shooting in NYC for Chandler's Senior portraits. This image is part 2 of her “God Wink” series of Legacy Images. “Clouds come into our lives, no longer to carry rain or usher a storm, but to add color our sunset skies” I loved this saying and how it rings so true for so many of us, Chandler has had her struggle with storm clouds this past year, but though much prayer and her commitment to God, she has overcome a lot and is growing stronger daily. This sunset in Central Park is to remind her that when clouds come, to look at them as something positive, something that will add color to her world just like it does for sunset skies. Keep strong Chandler and keep trusting in God and always stay close to your family.

Reflections of Summer

When Kaitlyn and her mom came to me they told me they wanted a legacy portrait that was pastel tones and represented the beach and lake. I LOVE how this turned out and I titled it "Reflections of Summer" because I think it reflects the cheerful and sweet personality that Kaitlyn has and just the calmness that you feel being around her. Kaitlyn and her family enjoy the beach, but also their time spent at the lakes here in NY in the summertime. If you know Kaitlyn you know she is organized, goal orientated, empathetic and a hard worker. She is hoping to pursue a career in Engineering and will be playing D1 Lacrosse in college. I love how this portrait captures the soft beauty that we all see and love in her and how blessed we are that she is in our lives. This summer has been a summer to reflect on what is truly important in our lives and cherish the time spent together. Keep pursuing your dreams Kaitlyn and thank you for trusting me to capture this for you and your family.

I Want Adventure In The Great Wide Somewhere

"I want adventure in the great wide somewhere” ~Belle is the Legacy image we created for Rianne's senior image. When I met with her she told me that she loved everything Disney Princess, I KNEW we were going to create something beautiful for her!
